Discount Disney World Tickets: How to Actually Save (and Avoid Scams)
Disney tickets are never going to be cheap, but there is a real difference between paying gate price and being smart about it, and there are a lot of scams out there preying on families trying to save. As a local who watches people do this the hard way, here is how to actually save without getting burned.
Buy from an authorized reseller
The single biggest tip: buy from an authorized third-party seller like Undercover Tourist or Get Away Today. These are legitimate, authorized sellers that typically run about 5 to 10 percent under Disney's gate price. It does not sound huge until you do the math: a family of four can save well over $300 on a multi-day trip. The tickets work exactly like ones bought at the gate, same benefits, and authorized sellers like Undercover Tourist even offer a generous cancellation window.
Multi-day tickets are where the real savings are
This is the part people miss. Disney tickets get dramatically cheaper per day the more days you buy. A single day can run around $169, while a longer multi-day ticket can drop the per-day cost to roughly half that. If you are doing more than a day or two, a multi-day ticket (bought through an authorized reseller) is almost always the better value than buying single days.
Go on the cheapest days
Disney uses date-based pricing, so when you go changes the price. Weekdays, especially Tuesday through Thursday, are consistently cheaper than weekends, and slower seasons cost less than holidays and summer peaks. If your dates are flexible, shifting a trip by a few days can save real money. Play with the date calendar before you commit.
Other ways locals and families save
- Florida resident deals and military offers when you qualify, these can be some of the best discounts out there.
- Skip park hopper if you are not actually park-hopping, it adds cost you may not use with little kids.
- Plan rest days. You do not need a park ticket every day. A resort pool day or a free Orlando day in between saves money and saves your kids from a meltdown.
The scams to avoid (please read this part)
- Never buy "partially used" tickets from eBay, Craigslist, or Facebook. Disney ties each ticket to the person with fingerprinting, so they cannot be transferred, and reselling used tickets is illegal. You will be turned away at the gate.
- If a site asks for Western Union or any cash-equivalent payment, run. You will never get that money back. Always pay by credit card so you are protected.
- If a deal looks way too good, it is. Stick to authorized sellers and you are safe.
One more from experience: a few small things make a park day with kids so much easier, a clip-on stroller fan, cooling towels, refillable water bottles, and a portable charger. They are all in my Amazon storefront.
Plan the rest of the trip
Cheaper park days are only half the trip. Here is how I do the in-between days without spending a fortune.

Where is the cheapest legit place to buy Disney World tickets?
Authorized resellers like Undercover Tourist and Get Away Today typically beat Disney's gate price by about 5 to 10 percent, with the same ticket benefits.
Are multi-day tickets cheaper?
Yes, per day. The more days you add, the lower the per-day cost, so multi-day tickets are usually a much better value than buying single days.
Can I buy used or partial Disney tickets to save money?
No. Disney ties tickets to the person with fingerprinting, so they cannot be transferred, and reselling used tickets is illegal. Avoid eBay, Craigslist, and any cash-only sellers.
What is the cheapest time to go to Disney World?
Weekdays (Tuesday through Thursday) and slower, non-holiday seasons are consistently the cheapest, thanks to date-based pricing.
