Christmas at Disney World 2026: Dates, Parties, and a Local Mom's Tips
Christmas is hands-down my favorite time at Disney World. The decorations, the smells, the lights, it's pure magic, and a lot of it is free with regular admission. Here's how a local plans the holiday season so you get the magic without the meltdown.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
The big one. This separate-ticket party takes over Magic Kingdom on select nights from November 8 through December 22, 2026, running 7 pm to midnight (ticketholders can enter as early as 4 pm). You get a lighter-crowd park, the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, holiday fireworks, snow on Main Street, free cookies and cocoa, and characters in their festive best. Tickets run about $189 to $229 depending on the night.
EPCOT Festival of the Holidays
My personal favorite, and it's included with regular EPCOT admission. It runs November 27 through December 30, 2026 and turns World Showcase into a trip around the world's holiday traditions. Highlights: the moving Candlelight Processional (a celebrity narrator, choir, and orchestra telling the Christmas story), the Holiday Cookie Stroll, global Holiday Kitchens food booths, Santa, and festive performances like Voices of Liberty.
The free magic (don't overlook this)
- Every park is decked out with giant trees, garlands, and lights, all included with normal admission.
- Disney Springs is beautifully decorated and totally free to walk around, a great low-key holiday evening.
- Resort hotel lobbies have stunning trees and displays (the gingerbread displays are iconic). You can visit to look around.
- Holiday fireworks and projections on the castle are breathtaking.
A local mom's tips
- Layer up. Central Florida evenings in December can actually get chilly. Bring a light jacket.
- Do a party OR a regular day, then rest. The holidays are peak crowds; pace it and build in a break.
- Book dining early. Candlelight Processional packages and holiday restaurants fill up fast.
- Weekdays over weekends for smaller crowds and lower party prices.
