The lineup is here, and this one is big. Halloween Horror Nights is celebrating 35 years, and Universal is going all out: the whole park transforms into the Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, ruled by two icons at once. Jack the Clown and his rival Dr. Oddfellow are running the show together as the event's twisted ringmasters, which for longtime HHN fans is a very big deal.

The essentials: HHN 35 runs 48 select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026 at Universal Studios Florida, with 10 all-new haunted houses plus scare zones, shows, and themed food. The haunted houses announced so far

Sinners MovieBased on the 2025 Oscar-winning horror film, this one drops you into 1930s Mississippi Delta at Club Juke on opening night, celebrating with twins Smoke and Stack, until a troupe of red-eyed vampires crashes the party. Survive until sunrise.

Stranger Things TVThe fifth and final season comes to life as the barrier between Hawkins and the Upside Down collapses. You walk through the Wheeler House, Hawkins Lab, and the Abyss while Vecna and worse hunt you down. This will be one of the most popular houses of the year.

Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness TributeThe newest announcement, and a big one. Universal is honoring the late heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne with an all-original tribute house, one year after his passing. It plays out like a living horror movie spanning his 45-year solo career, sending you through a decaying world ripped straight from his lyrics, guided by his music across Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, No More Tears, Scream, and Ordinary Man. Expect this to be one of the most talked-about houses of the year.

Jack and Oddfellow: Chaos & Control OriginalThe house tied to this year's icons. Dr. Oddfellow walks you through Jack the Clown's twisted origin story until Jack takes over, and the two go from rivals to an uneasy alliance bent on wreaking havoc on everyone who enters.

H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular! OriginalA fan-favorite returns. The unhinged creature-feature host escapes prison and comes back to WKNB Television Station for one final, gruesome Halloween special. A love letter to HHN history.

MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals OriginalA post-apocalyptic wasteland where survivors have turned to cannibalism. You look for shelter in the ruins of an old zoo and find a tribe of predatory cannibals who want to make you the prey.

Cybergoria OriginalSet thousands of years in the future, you wake from cryo-sleep to discover the machines built to make humans immortal have been harvesting human flesh and swapping it for synthetic parts. Cold, dead, and deeply creepy.

INVASION: Alien Abduction OriginalA terrifying close encounter: an aggressive, unseen alien craft has abducted a family and their livestock from a remote homestead, and it is now plotting to tear everyone apart.

Still coming: Universal has confirmed 10 houses total, so two more haunted houses are still to be announced, along with the rest of the scare zones and live shows. They tend to reveal these across the summer, so it is worth following Universal's announcements as we get closer to opening.

Scare zones

The scare zones are still rolling out, but Universal has confirmed one so far: Fortnitemares, a scare zone inspired by Fortnite's signature Halloween event, coming to both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood. Expect the rest of the scare zones, including one tied to the Infernal Carnival theme, to be announced closer to the event.

Which ones I'd hit first

If you have read my first-timer guide, you know my rule: the big-name, movie-and-TV houses draw the longest lines, so do those first. This year that means heading straight for Stranger Things, Sinners, and the Ozzy Osbourne tribute house the moment the event opens, before the lines get brutal. Save the original houses like Cybergoria and MADLANDS for later in the night when the crowds thin, and leave the scare zones and shows for when house lines are at their worst.

My personal most-excited pick is the Jack and Oddfellow house. Getting both icons in one story, working together, is exactly the kind of over-the-top HHN moment that makes the whole night worth it. And H.R. Bloodengutz coming back is a fun nod for anyone who has been doing this for years.
