Family-Friendly Halloween in Orlando 2026 (Beyond Horror Nights)

Everyone hears "Orlando Halloween" and thinks Halloween Horror Nights, which is incredible but absolutely not for little kids (it is scary on purpose). The good news for families: Orlando does Halloween better than almost anywhere, and most of the magic is the not-scary kind. Here is where to take the little ones.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
This is the family Halloween event in Orlando. It runs on select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026, from 7 pm to midnight, and you can get in early starting at 4 pm. Expect trick-or-treating around every corner, Disney characters in costume, special parades and fireworks, and rides with a spooky-but-sweet twist. Kids and grown-ups dress up (yes, adults can costume here, which you can't do on a normal park day). Tickets run roughly $119 to $229 depending on the date, so weeknights early in the season are the value play.
SeaWorld Spooktacular (my pick for the littlest ones)
If your kids are very young or scare easily, SeaWorld's Spooktacular is the gentlest, sweetest option, and it is a daytime event so no fighting bedtime. It runs select dates from August 29 through November 1, 2026 and is included with park admission. There is a Trick-or-Treat Trail, a Sesame Street Halloween parade, storytime with Big Bird, a costume contest, a pumpkin garden, and silly (never scary) characters. It is pure preschool joy.
What about Halloween Horror Nights?
HHN returns to Universal in fall 2026 and it is fantastic, for teens and adults. It is genuinely scary, with haunted houses and roaming scare actors, so leave the little ones home with a sitter for that one. Save it for a date night.
