Orlando Family Events: July and August 2026 (Dates + How to Plan Ahead)
Summer in Orlando is packed, and the next six to eight weeks are some of the best of the whole year for families. We have got Fourth of July fireworks this week, glowing nighttime parties at SeaWorld, a brand new LEGO Festival, and the very first nights of Halloween and Food and Wine season landing in August. Here is my running list for July and August 2026, with the dates I could confirm and what to grab ahead of time so you are not scrambling.
This week: Fourth of July fireworks (July 3, 4, 5)
Independence Day is a three-night event across the parks and the city, so you have options whether you want a park ticket or a free spot.
- Magic Kingdom: Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, extra fireworks at 9:00 PM on July 3, 4, and 5, included with admission.
- EPCOT: Heartbeat of Freedom, extra fireworks launched around World Showcase at 9:15 PM on July 3, 4, and 5, included with admission.
- Universal Studios Florida: a fireworks display over the park around 10:00 PM on July 4, plus character meet-and-greets and live entertainment.
- LEGOLAND Florida: Red, White and BOOM! with a family-friendly fireworks show over Lake Eloise (special glasses turn the bursts into LEGO brick shapes).
- Free in the city: Lake Eola Park (downtown Orlando) runs 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM with live music, a kids play zone, and fireworks around 9:10 PM on July 4. Celebration's Town Center celebration runs 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on July 4, just minutes from Disney.
All summer long: SeaWorld Electric Ocean (select nights through Sept 7)
- SeaWorld Orlando Electric Ocean, select nights now through September 7, 2026, included with park admission. After sunset the park lights up with DJ dance parties, the Hydro Surge cirque show, nighttime animal presentations, an all-new drone show, and the Ignite fireworks finale. This is my pick for a slower, cooler evening with little ones since so much of it happens right at dusk.
July into August: Universal and LEGOLAND summer
- Universal Mega Movie Parade, select days through August 23, 2026, included with admission (Trolls, E.T., Shrek, and more).
- Universal CityWalk Summer Music Series, Saturdays through August 15, 2026, free live music at the Waterfront stage (three sets a night).
- Universal Volcano Bay Nights, select days through August 21, 2026, an after-hours water park event with shorter lines.
- LEGOLAND Florida LEGO Festival, July 20 to August 16, 2026, included with admission. Music, creativity, and chill-out play zones plus a new Thrill Zone with a LEGO Formula 1 challenge. Pair it with a LEGOLAND Water Park day to beat the heat.
The August kickoff: Halloween and Food and Wine begin
- Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (Magic Kingdom), first party night August 7, 2026 (runs on select nights through October 31), 7:00 PM to midnight, with ticket holders let in as early as 4:00 PM. This one needs a separate ticket and popular nights sell out, so book early. August nights fall on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Full details in my family Halloween in Orlando guide.
- EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, begins August 27, 2026 (runs through November 21), included with EPCOT admission. Strollers welcome, and it is a fun graze-around evening for families. Food and drink cost extra.
What to buy to plan ahead
For a July or August day here, the heat is the whole game. The same short list saves your day every time: broken-in comfy shoes, a handheld or stroller fan, a portable charger, a refillable water bottle, cooling towels, and a poncho for the afternoon downpour. Here is my full theme park packing list, and if the parks are not in the plan, my Orlando summer with kids guide covers splash pads and springs. Save on entry with my discount Disney tickets guide.

If you want to turn any of these into an easy overnight or a low-key pool day, I have two go-to tricks: a resort day pass (no room required) in my Orlando hotel pool day pass guide, and last-minute rooms for less in my Hotel Tonight last-minute Orlando guide.
