Orlando Family Events October 2026 (Every Date Worth Planning Around)

October is the month Orlando shows off. Every park has an event running, the farms up in Lake County finally open, downtown throws a free festival, and for about three weeks the evenings are almost pleasant. It is also the month that catches people out, because the best nights sell out and the last two weekends get genuinely busy.

So here is my October calendar, laid out week by week with the dates I could actually verify. Pick two or three things, put them on the family calendar now, and buy the little stuff early so nobody is crying in a parking lot at 4pm.

What runs all month long

• EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, Aug 27 to Nov 21, 2026. Included with regular EPCOT admission, you just pay for the food and drinks. This is my easiest October answer: strollers welcome, shade in World Showcase, and you can graze instead of committing to a sit-down meal with kids.
• SeaWorld Spooktacular, select dates through Nov 1, 2026. Daytime, included with admission, and still the gentlest option for little ones. New for 2026, the Hotel Transylvania characters joined the lineup. My honest take is in SeaWorld Spooktacular with little kids.
• Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida, Aug 28 to Nov 1, 2026. This one is not for kids, no trick-or-treating and no friendly characters, but if you are planning a grown-up night, early-October weeknights are calmer and cheaper than the last two Saturdays. • Pumpkin farms and corn mazes north and west of Orlando. Amber Brooke Farm in Mount Dora runs weekends through Nov 22, Southern Hill Farms in Clermont runs through Nov 22, and Pumpkins & Ponies at Tanner Pioneer Ranch runs Wednesday through Sunday through Oct 31. Week 1: October 1 to 5

• Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (Magic Kingdom): Oct 1, 2 and 4. These are the quietest party nights of the whole month. If you only do one, do an early-October Thursday or Sunday. Separate ticket, 7pm to midnight, and your party ticket gets you into the park as early as 4pm. My full walkthrough is in Not-So-Scary with kids.
• LEGOLAND Florida Brick-or-Treat: Oct 3 and 4. Included with regular admission on event dates, which makes it one of the best-value Halloween days in Central Florida. See Brick-or-Treat with kids.

Week 2: October 6 to 12

• Not-So-Scary party nights: Oct 6, 8 and 9.
• Brick-or-Treat: Oct 9, 10 and 11.
• Columbus Day weekend falls on Oct 10 to 12, which means school is out in a lot of districts and the parks feel it. If you can go midweek instead, do.

Week 3: October 13 to 19

• Not-So-Scary party nights: Oct 13, 15, 16 and 18.
• Brick-or-Treat: Oct 16, 17 and 18.
• Come Out With Pride Orlando, Saturday, Oct 17, 2026 at Lake Eola Park downtown. Festival through the day, parade down Orange Avenue in the late afternoon, fireworks over the lake at the end. It is free, no ticket needed, and the park-and-playground setup makes it easy to bring kids for a couple of hours.

Week 4: October 20 to 26 (the big one)

• runDisney Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, Oct 22 to 25, 2026. Races run Friday through Sunday (5K, 10K and half marathon), with the post-race party at EPCOT on Oct 25. Even if nobody in your house is running, spectating is a genuinely fun morning: cowbells, costumes, and the kids get to cheer for strangers.
• Not-So-Scary party nights: Oct 22, 23 and 25.
• Brick-or-Treat: Oct 23, 24 and 25.
• Heads up on hotels: race weekend plus peak Halloween season is the tightest hotel stretch of the fall. If you are coming in from out of town, book early, and if you are local and just want a pool day, a ResortPass day pass gets you the resort without the room. Week 5: October 27 to 31 (Halloween week)

• Not-So-Scary party nights: Oct 27, 29 and 31. Halloween night itself is Saturday, Oct 31, 2026, and that date always sells out first. If it is still available when you read this, that is your sign.
• Brick-or-Treat: Oct 30 and 31, the last two dates of the season.
• Neighborhood trick-or-treating on Saturday, Oct 31, which is the best-case scenario: no school the next morning. My survival notes are in trick-or-treating with toddlers, and the costumes that actually survive Florida humidity are in easy kids' Halloween costume ideas.

What to buy to plan ahead

The list barely changes from event to event, which is the good news. This is what earns its spot in my bag for an October park day or a farm afternoon:

• Broken-in comfy shoes. Do not debut new sneakers on a party night. Ask me how I know.
• A handheld or stroller-clip fan. Still non-negotiable in Florida in early October.
• A portable charger. The park app, mobile order and 400 photos will drain your phone by 2pm.
• A refillable water bottle. Free ice water at quick service counters adds up to real money over a full day.
• A packable rain poncho. Cheaper and lighter than a stroller full of regret at 3pm.
• A light layer for evenings. Late October nights finally cool off a little.
• A collapsible wagon or a small folding stool if you are doing the farms or spectating at a runDisney race. Standing around is the part nobody warns you about.

Book now for November and December

October is also when the holiday stuff starts selling out, so while you are in the calendar anyway:

• Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (Magic Kingdom), select nights Nov 8 to Dec 22, 2026, roughly $189 to $229 per ticket plus tax depending on the date. November dates include Nov 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27 and 29. Full details in my Christmas at Disney World guide.
• EPCOT Food & Wine keeps running to Nov 21, so a November trip can still catch it.
• Winter Park Autumn Art Festival in Central Park on Park Avenue, listed by the Winter Park Chamber for Nov 14 and 15, 2026. Free, outdoors, and an easy Saturday if you are local.
• Eolaween and other downtown Orlando seasonal events: dates expected and not yet confirmed for 2026, so check the Downtown Orlando calendar closer to the month.
